Saint André Bessette (1845–1937) was born in Quebec, Canada, and became a lay brother of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Despite poor health and little formal education, he dedicated his life to welcoming the sick and afflicted, encouraging them to pray to Saint Joseph.

Through his unwavering faith, countless people experienced physical and spiritual healing. His devotion led to the construction of Saint Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal, which today stands as one of the largest shrines dedicated to Saint Joseph in the world. He was canonized in 2010 and is remembered as a model of humility and trust in God.
