🕊 About St. Ambrose

Saint Ambrose (c. 340–397) was born into a Christian family in what is now Germany and later became Bishop of Milan. Though not yet baptized at the time of his election, he was chosen by popular acclaim because of his integrity and leadership.

As bishop, he became a strong defender of orthodox Christian doctrine and played a key role in guiding and baptizing Saint Augustine. Ambrose was known for his powerful preaching, his writings on theology and morality, and his influence on the development of sacred music in the Church.

He is recognized as one of the four original Latin Doctors of the Church and remains a model of pastoral courage and intellectual brilliance.
